Black Limo, Green Transport

Bauer's Worldwide Intelligent Transportation, one of a growing number of "green" transportation services striving to provide more Earth-friendly transit, is expanding its clean-air service for businesses nationwide. Along with chauffeuring executives in low-emission, private vehicles similar to conventional limousine services, Bauer's Corporate Green Solution offers businesses the ability to transport hundreds of employees to and from work in an environmentally sound manner. The service began with Google in 2005 and moves more than 2,500 of the company's employees a day via clean air shuttles to Google's headquarters in Silicon Valley.

The company has been blazing this trail for some years. Bauer's (www.bauerslimousine.com) was one of the first to put green vehicles in its fleet back in 1998 when it began running clean air shuttles to San Francisco International Airport. The company uses vehicles powered by biodiesel, electricity, propane, hybrid powertrains, and natural gas, the latter fuel powering the shuttle shown here. About 85 percent of all fleet miles traveled in Bauer's vehicles are done with alternative fuels or hybrid vehicles.
