Chili Pepper's Red Hot TDI Racer

Race cars aren't just going fast...these days they're also going "green." As momentum grows, we're seeing this in all facets of racing. One of the latest news bullets comes from the SPEED World Challenge, where Chili Pepper Racing (www.chilipepperracing.org) is campaigning a VW Jetta TDI in the 2007 SPEED World Challenge Touring Car Championship. This marks what the team says is the first production-based diesel car to race in a professional U.S.-based road racing series, and the first professional road racing series that's approved the use of such cars in the U.S. The team has been competing in the series since 2002.
