Is Driving on Ethanol Patriotic?

With nearly three million flexible-fuel vehicles on the road capable of running on E-85 ethanol and very few of them actually using this renewable fuel, it's obvious that education and refueling infrastructure efforts are needed.

That hasn't escaped the attention of the North American Bioproducts Corp., which is running a "Support Ethanol, Support America" billboard campaign that displays the American flag with a pro-ethanol fuel message. The billboards are now seen by drivers on Interstate 90 in Albert Lea, Minnesota, and Interstate 29 North near Sioux Falls, South Dakota, with further rollouts in other areas planned. NABC targeted those locations they're near many new and existing ethanol plants.

"Our main goal is to support the local plants and the industry that supports us," says NABC president Kevin Dailey, pointing out that "this type of marketing promotes goodwill and public awareness of ethanol facilities in these areas and improves consumer awareness of our industry's efforts.
