T3 Motion, which already markets its T3 Series electric standup vehicle (ESV) and CT Micro Car low speed vehicle (LSV), has announced its latest product, the GT3. Unlike the two previous products that are designed for more practical applications, the GT3 plug-in electric vehicle is pretty much just for fun.
The two-passenger GT3 features a unique, single, wide-stance wheel with two high-performance tires that are mounted on a single rim. Classified as a motorcycle, the company says the two-tire design improves traction, stability, and handling. Its low rolling resistance and rounded profile of the rear tires are designed to maximize energy efficiency. The GT3’s multi-link dual shock front suspension is similar to suspensions used in today’s Formula One race cars.

A front-mounted AC induction motor drives the front wheels through a single ratio transaxle. An 18 kilowatt-hour lithium-polymer battery pack provides an expected single charge driving range of 80 to100 miles and a 70 mph top speed. The GT3 uses a T3 Motion intelligent power management battery system.
The 140 inch long and 63 inch wide GT3 has a substantial box and tube frame covered by a sleek, aerodynamically styled open body. It is only 45 inches tall and has a 100 inch long wheelbase. T3 Motors is now taking pre-orders and prices are expected to range from $35,000 to $42,000.

Interestingly, the GT3 also features an integrated ‘black box’ video and data recording system. T3Motion already markets its MotionTrak 300 Series In-Car Data Recording System that continuously records G-forces and speed that’s integrated with Google Map GPS locations. It can also capture accidents with a 3G Sensor graph.
