New Civic Hybrid Prius Fighter

The all-new, completely restyled 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid is a quantum leap forward for Honda in terms of style, safety, and overall packaging. It also does what Honda's hybrids have never done - operate on electric power only under certain driving conditions. The Civic Hybrid does this with its new, fourth generation Integrated Motor Assist system that incorporates a 1.3-liter i-VTEC engine with Variable Cylinder Management, along with a more powerful electric motor that results in a total 110 horsepower package.

While cruising, the electric motor, the gasoline engine, or both propulsion systems can power the vehicle, enabling the Civic Hybrid to run on electric power alone in certain cruising situations. EPA estimated fuel economy is 50/highway and 50/city mpg with a driving range of about 615 miles. With this new all-electric capability, more power, and a stylishly updated appearance, the 2006 Civic Hybrid is sure to give Toyota's Prius a run for the money.
