The Petroleum Gap Widens

 

Since 1989, the transportation sector in the U.S. alone has used more petroleum than the country produces. How serious is this? Current projections indicate that by the year 2030, America's transportation sector will consume nearly twice as much petroleum as the U.S. produces.
