Porsche Cayenne Hybrid Coming?

Porsche is presently weighing the merits of a hybrid electric powerplant for its Cayenne SUV. This option, should it come to pass, is important since it would make this model competitive with other high-end hybrid sport utility vehicles that will soon come to new car showrooms, including the Lexus RX 400h. In fact, it's been reported that Porsche is considering using the Hybrid Synergy Drive powerplant from this high-end Toyota model.

Toyota already licenses its hybrid technology to Nissan and Ford, with expectations that its popular HSD technology will makes its way across other automotive brands as well. It seems that this plan is clearly in motion.
