Quantum Sells More H2 Hybrids
 Apparently, the 30 hydrogen hybrid Prius models that Quantum Technologies built for municipal fleets in California is just the beginning of a more expansive program at this Irvine, California company. These initial H2 hybrids, part of a program with the South Coast Air Quality Management District in Southern California, proved that the gasoline part of Toyota’s gasoline-electric hybrid could run well on hydrogen. Now it’s time to build more.
According to Quantum’s president and CEO, Alan Niedzwiecki, the company is seeing increased interest from around the world for this vehicle. That international interest has now brought in an order for 15 additional H2 hybrids from Miljobil Grenland AS, a participant in HyNor, the Norwegian Hydrogen Highway program. The vehicles will enter the HyNor program in 2006 and 2007 as part of the effort to demonstrate hydrogen energy along a 360 mile route from Oslo to Stavanger.
